RULES FOR DIGITAL IMAGES
- Images must be in JPEG format.
- Image size must be no wider than 1,600 pixels.
- Image size must be no higher than 1,200 pixels.
- File size must not exceed 2048kb (2 Mb).
- The file name, for competitions, must contain only the TITLE and MEMBERSHIP NUMBER in the format:-
IMAGE TITLE - MEMBER NUMBER.jpg
for example:-
MONA LISA - 99.jpg
for example:-
MONA LISA - 99.jpg
EXAMPLES OF MAXIMUM IMAGE SIZES:-
The maximum image size is 1600 pixels wide and 1200 pixles high.
In the examples shown above, A, B and C are less than 1600 pixles - this means the image does not need to be as wide as the maximum (1600 pixles).
Also in the examples, X, Y and Z are less than 1200 pixles - this means the image does not need to be as high as the maximum (1200 pixles).
For example, entering a square or a letter box image may mean the diemensions are smaller than the maximum!

CHECK DIMENSIONS OF A DIGITAL IMAGE
Check the dimensions of the image, by using one of the following.
In image editing software (like Photoshop)
In image editing software (like Photoshop)
- Open the image
- Click "File"
- Select "File Info..."
- The file information pop-up will appear
- Select "Camera Data"
- The "Pixel Dimension" indicates the image size:-
In the Windows file browser (method 1) [other operating systems are available]
- Locate the image in the file browser
- Hover the mouse pointer over the image
- The basic file information will appear including the image "Dimensions":-
In the Windows file browser (method 2)
- Locate the image in the file browser
- Right click the mouse pointer on the image
- A pop-up menu appears:
- Click "Properties"
- A pop-up window appears.
- Select the tab called "Details" and locate the "Dimensions":-
In the Windows file browser (method 3)
- Locate the image in the file browser
- Right click the mouse pointer on the column headings
- A pop-up window appears:
- Click "More..."
- Select the option called "Dimensions"
- Click the [Ok] button
- The "Dimensions" will appear in the File Explorer:-
